Super Mario 64 was later brought back to usher in Nintendo's first portable 3D system as Super Mario 64 DS in November 2004 (December 2004 in Japan February/March 2005 in the PAL region).
Along with Mario Kart 64, it would be re-released again a year and a half later, alongside Player's Choice newcomer Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.
The game was re-released in 1998 as a charter member of the N64 Player's Choice Million Seller Club, along with Mario Kart 64, Wave Race 64, Star Fox 64, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Cruis'n USA, and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.
